Saturday Guest Teacher

We will be rotating guest teachers for the Saturday Advanced Unset Ballet and Pointe.  This class is for advanced students only, with a minimum of 3 to 4 years of ballet and pointe.  It is a 2 hour class from 11:00 – 1:00pm.  Our next Saturday Guest Teacher will be Viorica Stampfel.  She will teach on May 12th and May 19th.  The school will be closed on Saturday May 26th due to the Memorical Day week end.  Viorica is on staff here at The Academy.  She received her training in Roumania with the Roumanian Opera Ballet Company where she was first a soloist and then Prima Ballerina.  Viorica teaches advanced ballet.

We are proud and delighted to announce our next guest teacher will be Glenn Allen Sims.  He will be here on June 2nd, 9th and 16th.  He is a member of The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Glenn began his classical dance training at the Academy of Dance Arts in Red Bank, NJ.  He attended The Juilliard School under the artistic guidance of Benjamin Harkarvy. In 2004, Mr. Sims was the youngest person to be inducted into the Long Branch High School’s Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. He has been seen in several network television programs including BET Honors, Dancing with the Stars and The Today Show. In 2010, Mr. Sims taught as a master teacher in Ravenna, Italy for “Dance Up Ravenna,” sponsored by International Dance Association, and performed in the White House tribute to Judith Jamison. He has performed for the King of Morocco and is a certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre® instructor. In summer 2011, Mr. Sims wrote a featured guest blog for Dance Magazine. Mr. Sims joined the Alvin Ailey Company in 1997.
