Performance Opportunities
Every year in September and January, Academy students may audition for The Nutcracker and a spring performance produced by the Company of Dance Arts; the non-profit dance company affiliated with the Academy. Please call CODA at 732.842.4015 or check their website www.codanj.com for more information.
Students enrolled in workshop classes (marked with a “P” on the schedule) in ballet, modern, jazz, variations, contemporary ballet and repertoire, will have the opportunity to perform their work in a theater at the end of the school year. These classes are by teacher recommendation only, with the exception of the workshop classes for levels 5-11 which are open to any student taking 2 or more ballet technique classes a week.
Exam Opportunities
Every year, by teacher recommendation only, qualified students may take ballet examinations given by a visiting examiner from the Royal Academy of Dance, London, England. Each year more than 170,000 students in 75 countries take these exams. The exams serve to solidify the material taught at a particular level, so the student can confidently progress in their technique.
