2012 Student Assessment Application Form

THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MONDAY MAY 14TH

This year for the first time, The Academy is offering “Technical Assessments”. These Assessments will consist of a semi-private evaluation by Mr. & Mrs. Mishoe on a vocabulary of steps specific to the student’s level, followed by a progress report to gauge their improvement! We hope to have the opportunity to assess each student and give them the feedback and encouragement they need to progress in their dancing. We are proud and delighted to announce our next guest teacher will be Glenn Allen Sims.  He will be here on June 2nd, 9th and 16th.  He is a member of The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Glenn began his classical dance training at the Academy of Dance Arts in Red Bank, NJ.  He attended The Juilliard School under the artistic guidance of Benjamin Harkarvy. In 2004, Mr. Sims was the youngest person to be inducted into the Long Branch High School’s Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame. He has been seen in several network television programs including BET Honors, Dancing with the Stars and The Today Show. In 2010, Mr. Sims taught as a master teacher in Ravenna, Italy for “Dance Up Ravenna,” sponsored by International Dance Association, and performed in the White House tribute to Judith Jamison. He has performed for the King of Morocco and is a certified Zena Rommett Floor-Barre® instructor. In summer 2011, Mr. Sims wrote a featured guest blog for Dance Magazine. Mr. Sims joined the Alvin Ailey Company in 1997.
